  Select Crime Area by Point/Rectangle

Click this tool to Select Area by Point/Rectangle.

Select Point
Left-click with your mouse on a single point on the map. There will be a small red mark on the point where you clicked on the original map.

The map will then highlight an area with in a half-mile radius. The statistics for this area are displayed in the Average Crime Rates for Twelve Quarters Ending on 12/31/2001 table displayed in the Query/Selection Results window.

Click on the Zoom to Map Selection link in the Query/Selection Results window to zoom to the selected area.

Recording Area Explanation: A link to an explanation for Recording Area selection.

Select Rectangle

Left-click with your mouse and hold down to drag a rectangle on the map and then release the button. Center your area inside the rectangle.

The map will highlight the area with in a half-mile buffer of the rectangle you just dragged. The statistics for this area are displayed in the Average Crime Rates for Twelve Quarters Ending on 12/31/2001 table displayed in the Query/Selection Results window.

Click on the Zoom to Map Selection link in the Query/Selection Results window to zoom to the selected area.
